The Norrish Creek project, located in Abbotsford was a 42″ pipeline project for Pedre Construction. Approximately 2 km. long. The work was done in flood conditions and inclement weather.
In addition to working in remote regions of Western Canada, Jewel also works on major urban projects in high density population areas, day and night.
June 2007 to Dec 2011. Total cost of scope for all phases in five contracts $4.5 million. Total of approximately 10km long of 72” diameter pipeline including 9-line valve chambers, 2 cross over chambers, all the control valve piping as well as all the tie in work for Metro Vancouver.
This North Vancouver 72 inch diameter water-line pipe and walking platform bridge project was contracted directly from Metro Vancouver and completed in 2010. In addition to the Capilano Pipe Bridge, Jewel has completed two other pedestrian bridge projects, School House Bridge in Coquitlam and North Alouette River Greenway Bridge in Maple Ridge.
Jamie Creek is a penstock project subcontracted from Hazelwood Construction Services Ltd. Apr 2013 to Dec 2013. Cost of scope $600k. Welding, lining and coating of 600m of 54” diameter pipe at a 60-degree grade. It also included the installation of the bifurcation, all welding, lining and coating. Located at Kwoiek Creek, BC the Boston Bar project is a hydroelectric penstock project successfully completed in 2013. CRT is the general contractor and end user is Innergex. Jewel performed the welding, lining & coating of 7 km’s of 76 inch and 80 inch diameter pipes and completed approximately 460 joint welds.
Located in North Middlesex, north of London, Ontario this 60′ high x 80′ diameter anaerobic digestor structure was built for the Lynn Cattle Company Inc. The material used was Carbon Steel Weathering Plate.
The 250 million dollar project was Jewel’s first major project. The plant is located in the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve, and is the largest water filtration plant in Canada. It began distributing water to the residents of Metro Vancouver in December 2009, and has the capacity to produce up to 1.8 billion litres per day.
Located north of Powell River this Penstock type project was for Kiewet Construction and Jewel performed welding on the bifurcation and powerhouse.
